Advantages: Very happy and feel good songs.

Disadvantages: Can almost be repetitive after a while.

The 'trick to life' was released in 2007, on October the 22nd 2007. (UK)

It reached number 1 in the UK charts, quite an impressive achievement for such a blend of indie, rock and pop as many artists succeeding in the charts nowadays tending to be mainstream R & B or other variations of this genre.

As for the album itself, it has a very flowy feel to it, having different sections, up and downs which is what makes a great album great.

I will now tell you about some of the individual songs on the album

From the album they released four singles:

'Worried About Ray'
Reached number 5 in the UK charts.
It is the first song on the album, with a killer guitar melody and amazing lyrics. The lyrics 'truth be told, i wonder what the future holds' being the first lyric sung. The song seems to sing about 'Ray', a character they almost seem to be telling a story about. Maybe someone they know?

'Goodbye Mr A'
This song reached number 4 in the UK charts.
It has a very poppy style, having a very feel good factor to it. The lyrics once again are very good. His voice hits all the right notes, even the high ones (which he consistently does throughout the album)
Even though this song gained the highest chart position, i think there are still better songs on the album.

'Worst Case Scenario'
The first two singles were released in 2007, but as 2008 came, this single didnt do as well as the first two, only reaching number 76 in the UK charts. Still a good song by all means though, notably having a good drum beat and interesting instruments.

'Cops and Robbers'
Reached 24 in the UK, this song has an irrestible sing along aspect to it. It is extremely cheesy and has very catchy lyrics including 'blame simon!' and the chorus 'If we catch a criminal, when we catch a criminal, there's nothing we can do, but play cops and robbers!' His vocals are once again exceptional.

Other great songs on the album:

'Killer'
I think this song is one of the best on the album, once again showing a different side to the hoosiers.
The song has a great chorus, as do many of the songs on the album.

'Everything Goes dark'
This song is another of my favourites, it shows that the hoosiers can also master acoustic variations on their style. I like this song because it kind of provides a break from the same style within the album.

'Run Rabbit Run'
I like this song because it is slower and features a very good performance of the lead singer's vocals, he really hits the high notes in the chorus 'Dont look baaaackkk!'

Overall, the album is a little gem. They really are a break from some of the mainstream chart music you hear nowadays. The album has great character and they really show you that they mean business with this album.
I hope they will do another album of this quality soon.
