Advantages: Great songs, excellent arrangements, Prince in excellent form

Disadvantages: Few people got the chance to hear it, because it was so poorly marketed

One of the best albums from the purple one in the nineties. It is a real pity it didn't get a widespread distribution like it deserved, but just lived in the shadow of Crystal Ball, which is a collection of previously bootlegged material.

The truth has a lot of very catchy and beautiful songs, and is a very sincere album, with extended use of acoustic instruments. The artist's own words describes this feat best in "Don't Play Me"; "My only competition is, well, me in the past". Best album since Sign O The Times.

Summary: Best Prince album of the nineties!
