I am a big fan of the Used and this is their best album so far. The self titled album contains many of the bands classic songs, including Taste of Ink and Noise and Kisses. The album is a nice blend of some more mellow songs, such as Greener with the Scenery, along with more songs like the old Used that are slightly heavier, such as Maybe Memories. Bert's voice is really shown on this album and the range of his voice is superb. My recommendation to anyone who is interested in hearing some of the Used's work is to listen to this album, as it gives the most variety in the type of music the Used are bout. The Used are a superb band. They are Bert McCracken - vocals, Jeph Howard - bass, Branden Steineckert - drums/ vocals and Quinn Allman - guitar/ vocals and formed in Orem, Utah. They released their debut self-titled album in 2002 which was recorded at the producer, John Feldmann's home in LA and at London's legendary Olympic Studios which has witnessed such stars as The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. My Personal Opinion - Advantages: The band is very unique, They write their own songs, Bert's voice is one out of a million - Disadvantages: People assume that Bert used his ex-girlfriend, Kelly Osbourne to make the band more popular, They are often compared to Good Charlotte

Amongst far too many woe-is-me, I’m heartbroken, please think I’m a bit like Cobain bands, The Used are fighting their way through the list and gaining themselves a fair following, with the honest, un-exaggerated, passionate post-pre-emo-grunge-punk-hardcore-screamo-rocking, -never should be labeled- music presented on their debut self-titled album, The Used. From the unforgettable opening riff on the album “Maybe Memories” to the obliterating screams of “Choke Me”, The Used deliver 100% passion and effort through the entire CD, tackling many tricky subjects deeply and not letting an ounce of worthy emotion miss a song… ... Great performance spanning the band's entire career, with all the live favourites.
