Back in the day, the great thing about Bananarama was that they always seemed to be having a really good time. There was no faux-feminism a la Spice Girls, and no tabloid bitching (hello Girls Aloud); instead you always got the impression they didn't give a toss, and would rather be down the pub than on Top Of The Pops. That's not to say the music completely reflected this - even though Bananarama couldn't really sing, they still produced some memorable early 80s classics ('Cruel Summer', 'Robert De Niro's Wating').
