      good stuff

If you want your house broken down, then maybe this is the compilation for you. The definition of eurphoric house is essentially uplifting, positive and rousing dance music. The kind of tracks which will make you want to put those arms in the air.

There are two discs here and a sterling 42 tracks to get the teeth into. The album kicks off with Spiller's 'Groovejet.' Sophie Ellis Bextor's slinky vocal ensures it stays absorbing, without ever being buoyant. I prefer the trumpetty 'Just Won't Do' by Tim Deluxe, which has a magnetic rhythm and will get those toes tapping.

Head to The Ones who deliver an overtly sexual number on 'Flawless,' It could be any drag queen's getting ready to out theme tune. Next stop is the brilliant 'Another Chance' by Roger Sanchez, where a gloriously evocative vocal haunts you over enchanting chords and sumptuous kicks.

I can pass on 'Two Times' by Ann Lee, she seems to sing this lyrics about three hundred times and the song is sickly and repetitive. On the subejct of repetitive, Paul Johnson's 'Get Down' comes in close second for most inane offering.

Disc two continues witht the ultra funky 'You Don't Me' by Mr Armand van Helden. A wicked soulful vocal from Duane Harden ups the ante and drives the song forward with flourish. If you enjoyed this, then dip into Wamdue Project, where a slightly creepy riff arches the spine, while a tingling bass hook keeps up the momentum.

Ultar Nate was something of a one hit wonder, but her anthemic 'Free' remains testament to her strapping tongue and ability to belt out a positive house tune. If you want something more mellow, then Pete Heller pulls out all the stops on the sophisticated 'Big Love.'

The album recovers from a lull, arriving at Camisra's stunning 'Let Me Show' which has one of the best bassline in the last twenty years in dance music, a reworking of an old Sandy B song.

I heartily recommend this album for anyone who likes their dance music on the house side.

A good bargain if you can pick it up cheaply

I bought this album when it first came out back in 2003.

It is a two Cd set but I confess that I do end up playing the first CD a lot more than the second. The second does seem to suffer from the same problem a lot of two disc sets have that there seem to be a lot of filler tracks .

The style of the CD is very Dance themed and it is one of those CD's that just fades from one track to the next so you don't have any annoying gaps. I really love playing this CD in my car - usually on a sunny day when I can take the roof off and play it really really loud!!!

Most of the tracks have a really good bass line to them so even if you don't really know the track you can't help drumming along on the steering wheel!!

A few of the highlights of this CD for me are Groovejet by Spiller which features Sophie Ellis Bextor on vocals, Lazy by X-press 2 and Flawless by the Ones.

This CD can be picked up really cheaply now at less than £5 so well worth it for a cracking Dance CD.
