The Very Best of the Doors is a compilation album released in 2007, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band's self-titled debut album. The Doors, made up of singer Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robbie Krieger and drummer John Densmore, released six studio albums between 1967 and 1971 (and a couple more, I believe, after Morrison's death in summer 1971). Two versions of this collection were released: a single disc version and a double disc edition. I purchased the double disc edition, which was the first Doors album I ever owned.
