... song. Featuring popular releases such as 'Learn to fly' and 'Breakout' (from the movie soundtrack, 'Me, Myself and Irene' I believe) and one of my personal favourites 'M.I.A', this album is quite upbeat throughout and always gets me in the mood to sing along. Another reason why I enjoy most Foo Fighters songs, with the songs on this album being no exception, is that I can find meaning in most of the lyrics which I can relate to and find my own understanding for. I believe this makes the music mean more to me, and ...more

Its easy to review any Foo Fighters material because even before hearing it you just know its going to be excellent. I got into the band a bit later than most so this was the first album of theirs I bought, mainly because I loved their Learn to Fly song. The song became an instant favourite of mine and luckily for me it introduced me to the rest of the amazing work from this awesome band. The album is full of classic material and includes a wide range of musical types from the rocking 'Breakout' and 'Stacked Actors' to the slow 'Next Year'. In total there are 11 songs for you to enjoy and over 46 minutes of top quality music. Even now, almost 10 years on I ...  Read the complete review

'There Is Nothing Left to Lose' is the third album from the American rock band that is the Foo Fighters. The album was released through RCA Records in 1999 and features my personal favourite Foo Fighters track that is 'Breakout'. There are a number of Foo Fighters tracks that I absolutely love, 'Breakout' is my very favourite of them all however and every time I hear the track I smile. 'There Is Nothing Left to Lose' features eleven tracks and this therefore provides for 46 minutes of music. 'The Colour and the Shape' is the bands best album by far in my opinion, this one certainly still contains a number of excellent tracks however and I therefore often quite enjoy ...  Read the complete review

There Is Nothing Left To Lose - Foo Fighters: learn to fly with Nothing left to lose (409 words)

There are some days when it seems as though every stone in rock'n'roll has been overturned and there is just nothing new out there. But then the Foo Fighters come along with their third album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose, and hope for the genre is renewed. Now it's not that the Foos have done something on their latest release that is so out there and over-the-top that makes me say this. It's the fact that they've accomplished something even more difficult. Their music is simple, relatively understated, and provocative. They're not banging heads or screeching lyrics, but they manage to grab your attention and hold it. Perhaps it's ...  Read the complete review

if you didn't know already this review is on the best band in the world today - The Foo Fighters or more importantly the album there is noting left to lose. This album is an absolute masterpiece which no true music-lover should be without. Dave Grohl has finally put the ghost of Nirvana behind him and proved to us all just how good an artist he is, and he has proved it even more so with this album all the way from the anthemic rock that is 'Learn To Fly' through to the perfect rock such as 'Gimme Stitches' and 'Aurora' all the way through this album is quite simply another level. So in ending this is the album that everyone should own ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review There Is Nothing Left To Lose - Foo Fighters: What have you (left) to lose? (1342 words)

Nothing! If you’re already a fan of Foo Fighters (or Nirvana) then I reckon you’re probably going to like this, the latest offering from Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters. Yes, just in case anyone doesn’t know, I’ll provide some background… Ahem. Once upon a time there was a band called Nirvana that practically ruled the planet. Well, that’s not really very good is it? No, but everyone must know this bit. More importantly, for anyone who lost interest after Kurt’s suicide (or otherwise) is the fact that drummer of said band (the aforementioned Dave Grohl) has since continued with his own band under the moniker Foo ...  Read the complete review

Lots of banger Some tracks need time to grow

An excellent ten track album which blends brilliantly the genres of hardcore punk and metalcore. 7 minutes shorter than the bands first album.

A number of excellent tracks are present here, the choruses always are absolutely fantastic. A couple of filler tracks.

Ambitious. Experiments aren't all that successful.

A perfect 34 minutes of music, vocally exceptional and highly instrumentally entertaining. I fail to think of any.
