Songbook: A Collection Of Hits - Trisha Yearwood
by daseaford - written on 06/04/01 (Very useful, 74 readings)
Rating:
The first time I heard a Trisha Yearwood song was on the television programme Stars In Their Eyes. One of the hopeful contestants sang the song XXX’s and OOO’s and I really did enjoy it. Unfortunately I had missed the name of the real artist and had to wait patiently until the end of the programme to find out it was Trisha Yearwood. At that time I had never heard any of her music, but I spent the next couple of hours on the Internet reading up about this artist and listening to some samples of her music. ;-) 7. HEART LIKE A SAD SONG This sounds like a ‘golden oldie’ but it’s not. Only someone with the singing talent of Trisha Yearwood could convey the feelings that are evident in this particular number. If you are in the mood to get all nostalgic, then give this one a listen, but don’t forget the hankies! Yet another excellent track. 8. I DON’T WANT TO BE THE ONE To me, this is the weakest track on an otherwi se perfect album. Then again, it is a lovely ballad, with loads of piano to keep me interested, how about you? 9. BRING ME ALL YOUR ...

Rating:
As some of you will know, I am a fan of Trisha Yearwood and have been since she first came on to the New Country scene early in the nineties. Her wonderfully expressive, mature vocals are among the best I’ve ever heard. This is the latest of her CDs to come into my possession So, to business: “Real Live Woman” 1. The first track on this CD is called, “Where Are You Now?” and after a delightful maracas, guitar and mandolin intro it gets straight to the point, - no messing. "You used to love me, you used to ..." oh boy. This is the business, - Trisha is missing her man, - in spades. She’s doing ...
