The Verve were common on the charts within the 90's. And were no stranger to the god like peaks of success during the Urban Hymns period, and the album sums this up and is almost a tribute to that success they achieved. The Verve, one of the cornerstones of brit-pop, one of the true greats, The Only band that seemed to get the in way of the Rolling Stones, (only to be met with great gusto from the Jagger/Richards corner). In my opinion it was about time the Verve released this disc. Everything is in its right place. Throughout the years i always liked the Verve and everything they have stood for. However once too many times has there been a release with 2 or 3 pieces of gold bullion, and 8 or 9 pieces of scrap lead thats egressed from your roofs chimney flashings!
