Like Water For Chocolate - Common
by XICripZ - written on 01/09/08 (Very useful, 130 readings)
Rating:
Released in 2002, "Like Water For Chocolate" was the fourth album by the Chicagan MC, Common, following on from "One Day It ll All Make Sense", which dropped in 1997. Common continues to provide the world with positive Hip Hop in this release as he comes with some more well thought-out rhymes which manage to grap your attention with limitless complexity and diversity. 1. "Time Travellin " Although at first you may think that its quite an odd way to kick the album off Common comes with a track which has him seemingly travelling through sound as he explores a few genre of music with several jazzy compositions before entering himself witth ...

One Day It'll All Make Sense - Common
by habmaster - written on 02/12/07 (Very useful, 99 readings)
Rating:
And despite having a big act to follow, com pulls it off bangin out yet another amazing insightful funky soulful album, with sharp funky beats to go along with Common s politically, socially and story telling abilities on the lyric side of things. 1. Introspective - A short intro to the album as com gives his reasoning and story behind making this album, and why he s making it basically, with the backdrop of soothing percussion instruments. 2. Invocation - If you are not a fan of hip hop it doesn t matter, because the beat alone in this song is enough to keep listening, this song has some great kicks in the beat adding to spunk of commons lyrics talking of the ...

One Day It'll All Make Sense - Common

"One Day It ll All make sense is the third album from the Chigaan MC, Common (who had just shortened his name from Common Sense), and this LP was released in 1997. Common stood at the time as one of the biggest underground artist in Hip Hop so they re was a lot of hype over this album, despite it not being heard by mainstream audiences. Seeing that it only managed to shift 50,000 discs, it didn t really see any real popularity either, but regardless of this, Common went with some real quality, which people are beginning to go back to see as he now has a place in today s Hip Hop, but still being judged as an alternative act as he is a Conscious MC, instead of a ...

Products similar to Thisisme Then: The Best Of Com...
Willow - Soundtrack
An elegant and sonically impressive fantasy effort from Horner
Lengthy tracks combined with a lot of mood music may not appeal to all
Underground Network - Anti-Flag
Approachable political punk with some interesting variations.
Nothing too interesting, and not as good as their contemporaries.
Terror Squad - Artillery
Interesting and chaotic technical-thrash metal.
Few songs stand out above the rest.
Pure Chillout (2005)
Dance & Electronic - Chill Out - 2005
Area 54 - Apocrypha
Distinctive heavy metal with a strong bass presence and great vocals.
Oddly, perhaps too great a variety.
End Of The Weakness - Archeon
High quality debut replicating the Children of Bodom sound.
Not as good as the obvious influences.
Daredevil - Soundtrack
Loadsa great rockin tunes, not too heavy. 20 tracks in all.
coupla bad tracks (or at least not to my taste)
Ayreonauts Only - Ayreon
Enjoyable and revealing extras for Ayreon fans, and a chance to sample all the albums together.
Some "alternate versions" are hardly different at all, and mainly act as advertisements.
Artimus Pyledriver - Artimus Pyle
Another entertaining sludge album.
The same as all the rest.
Angels In America - Thomas Newman - Soundtrack
A perfect blend of traditionality with off-beat modernism
Fractured presentation with a couple of disruptive source songs
