Six years is a long time in terms of anything, never mind a career in the music industry. It's an even longer time in the history of a girl group when you consider that groups traditionally only last until one or more of the members' desires to go solo overwhelm them. Sugababes still exist in 2009 but six years ago they were in a very different place, most notably with Mutya Buena still a part of the line-up, prior to leaving and being replaced. Some things don't change though, and in 2003, like today, Sugababes were the UK's best girl group. Their aptly-named third album was launched off the back of the huge success of their debut with Heidi Range, 2002's Angels With ... Read the complete review

Sugababes are fast becoming one of the most consistent, oustanding and ground-breaking artists of this generation. There is a certain distinction in their songs and the style of their music, it seems distinctive as they do not sing the usual up-tempo pop song, and when they do pop they seem to mix it with soul and jazz. It is true to say that this girl band, are now popular and critically acllaimed because of merit, and their excellent music. Before their rise to fame with the hit album ''Angels and Dirty Faces'' (their second album), they where unknown and had released contunious singles and an album which failed to make much impact on the public and the ... This is now in the right place!! Right, please wait one second while a load this album into my play list..........Right we're off! Sugababes were formed in the late 90's for a fan base which was crying out for a new spin on the then dated girl group phenomenon. Gone were the Spice girls and on the way out was All Saints when the Sugababes hit the charts with their highly urban song 'Overload'. Although this was a massive success it failed to make the number One spot in the U.K charts. After this hits were thin on the ground. Labelled as one hit wonders they almost faded into the dark pit that is used pop, only surfacing to produce a few ... Read the complete review

After the successes of the sugababes? second album ?angels with dirty faces? it was quite obvious they would return sooner or later with a third album. And indeed just over a year after ?angels with dirty faces? was released ?three? puts the babes back on the map. With ?angels with dirty faces? the sugababes established a great pop/urban album, punching out two number ones and a few more top tenners. Gone was siobhan donaghy, who went off to make a more grown up, indie-esque record (which I must point out is really good, she has a beautiful voice go and buy it) and in came heidi range with an equally great voice to join keisha with the her sometimes annoyingly ... I think Three is probably my favourite Sugababes album. Now I've said on other reviews that I believe your opinion of an album is influenced by the circumstances in which you listen to it or the memories it provokes in you. This is definitely true for me and this album. It came out when I was just starting uni, and brings back loads of memories of Freshers' Week and that hedonistic first term! 1. Hole In The Head 2.
