After my friends recommended me to have a listen to 'Guillemots' I discovered this, their first album. 'Made Up Lovesong #43', 'If The World Ends' and 'Through The Windowpane' make the beginning and the middle of the album very strong indeed. The vocals produced on this record are quite outstanding in places and this is shown on these tracks. Inspired by the events in London in July 2005 (the lead singer, Fyfe Dangerfield, has his birthday on 7th July) it is an anthem like song, and is hard not to like. Other excellent tracks include Made Up Love Song #43 and the epic 12 minute long Sao Paulo which the band played at the BBC Electric Proms not so long ago. They band has sacks of talent and I can't ... Read the complete review
