The second album of the great progressive rock group Yes is a distinct improvement over the first, despite the fact that there is, alas, no Rick Wakeman or Steve Howe. we do, on the other hand have the great Bill Brudord on drums whose jazz influenced technique has really improved since the last album and chris Squire's bass really starts to add some depth and texture to the music. Its Pete Banks on guitar who again majorly lets the side down and its no surprise that he was out on his ear once this album had been recorded. One of the notable things about this album is that it was recorded with a string backing - there was a vogue of doing this at the time ...
