... bluesy, folksy rock. The album is spontaneous (recorded with his touring band) and at the same time messy and loose in places. It's light in subject matter focusing on romance and love rather than weightier subject matter that may have existed in previous albums. This shouldn't let the material down, but it does. You just feel that this isn't Dylan really trying... and you could be forgiven for thinking that given the speed at which it was recorded and released. Premium Review Together Through Life - Bob Dylan: For Dylan Lovers (241 words)

Is it me, or is it becoming more and more difficult to tell apart Bob Dylan's latter material? Since his wonderful Time Out Of Mind, I can't help thinking everything is beginning to sound the same? Together Through Life was supposed to be Dylan's return to his blues roots but to me it sounds incredibly similar to Modern Times and in some respects Love and Theft too. The overall feel is rootsy, bluesy, folksy rock. The album is spontaneous (recorded with his touring band) and at the same time messy and loose in places. Premium Review The Fourth Album In His Modern Trilogy? (2479 words)

Rating:

Together Through Life marks the 33rd studio album release by Bob Dylan, and his third this decade, coming after what many see as one of his best trilogies of albums. First released to mixed reviews, with some raving about and others pushing it away as simply mediocre material, but then it still gave him a Number One album in both the US and UK, making him again the oldest man to reach the top of the album charts. Inches - Les Savy Fav
An excellent display of rock, a massive variety of musical genres covered all within one album. Sometimes the band is a little too experimental and creatively farfetched for its own good.

It's A Treat To Be Alive - Spike
Pop Rock - 2007

Japanese Whispers - The Cure
The Lovecats is insanely good. The b-sides are great songs in their own right Let's Go To Bed now sounds dated, No Simon Gallup playing bass

Join The Dots - The B-sides & Rarities - The Cure
New Wave & Post-punk - 2007

Just Dreaming - Crematory
More convincing doom metal performance. Industrial elements clash.

Knives Don't Have Your Back - Emily Haines And The Soft Skeleton

Last Night In Town - Every Time I Die
An incredible album of metalcore, fine vocal and instrumental work. Complex song structures may put some listeners off.

Last Sunset - Conception
Enjoyable early power metal, with great vocals. Progressive touches sound forced and not too impressive.

Life On Life's Terms - Bedlight for Blue Eyes
The vocal range on display here is excellent, the guitar hooks sublime. If you don't like the vocal sound of Fall Out Boy then you probably won't like this.

Jacques: Shockheaded Peter - A Junk Opera - The Tiger Lillies
3 very talented musicians, a great act Not for all
