Say Gatecrasher to anyone who is serious about clubbing and you will get gasps and breaths of euphoric pleasure. That is essentially what Gatecrasher is all about. Uplifting trance music, for the glowstick generation. There are three discs here and 49 tracks, collecting some of the biggest trance anthems from 1993 through to 2009. I recommend 'Love Stimulation' by Humate, which is a trippy, vivid synth workout, which seems to take you on a journey to far off lands. Not necessarily that dynamic, but the melody is involving and enchanting enough to keep the attention levels up. Well the title itself is a misnomer for starters as the disco era was a fairly short period during the mid to late 1970's as disco was eventually ousted from the music scene by Punk and the 80's were ruled by 2 Tone Ska then the New Romantics & synth music at least as far as the UK went any way. Disco may have lived on into the 80's in America but it was replaced by electro, hip hop then rap followed by House music. Wikipedia even openly admits that disco died in 1979 but also states "the genre continued to be popular elsewhere during the 1980s", probably in less fashionable countries that hadn't adopted whatever was popular from England or America by then. Music was hit & miss during the 1990's, I didn't care for much that was released during the decade but occasionally got caught up in the hype of a few songs now and then. Primarily for me I spent the 1990's protecting the free world (6 years in the RAF) as well as listening to 80's music although enjoyed some of the electronica offered by the rave & acid scene at the time. This album is a collection of 39 tracks all of which were in the UK charts above the top 5 position or higher.
