Another slow guitar based track with whistling violin sounds and Tracey's really quite interesting vocal sounds. Slightly folky, slightly rocky, very great. 6. Missing Say Everything But the Girl and you'll pretty much hear the word Missing from everybody. It's their last major hit and was remixed (on track 11) by Todd Terry. As with all songs remixed in a dance style, the original is pretty much always better. This is totally true here, with a great mixture of acoustic guitar, percussion, synthesised sounds and much more besides. It just fits so perfectly. 1984 had seen the release of Everything But the Girl s debut album Eden, which had received fantastic feedback and been voted NME s album if that year. Eden had sold over 350,000 copies in the UK and over 500,000 copies worldwide so the pressure was on to follow up this debut with something equally as good, if not better. Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, who are the duo that comprise the band had been performing many of their new songs live for the past couple of years and it was somewhat surprising that many of these catchy songs had not made it onto their first album.
