Advantages: Fun with good values

Disadvantages: A few tracks don't seem to reach the band's potential

Trailercana is one of 8 Antsy McClain & The Trailer Park Troubadours albums, the quirky country rockabilly band from Kentucky are both humorous and interesting with songs that always merit an interest. Having grown up on a trailer park, Antsy McClain pens lots of relevant songs (such as Living in Aluminum" and has a typical southern sense of humour. He also seems to be a modest chap, this band have never tried to make it really big and are content with touring constantly around smaller but perhaps more appreciative venues. Modesty can be found in many of the songs.

Antsy's delivery of the songs are spot on and always brings a grin to the listeners face. Not only that but he has a cunning habit of being able to tell a story very well through a song as the lyrics paint the images perfectly and the intonation of his voice are spot on. Let's not forget the Trailer Park Troubadours, the musicians may not get much credit but they are a tight little outfit that add a great retro rockabilly sound to the band.

Whether it's the upbeat and incredibly lengthily titled "Just Flipped Off by a silver-haired old lady with a honk if you love Jesus sign", the funky "Dysfunktional" or the quality ballad at the end of the album "Falling in Love in America", the songs are cheerful and devoid of topics which fill many of today's songs in the pop genre. This character seems to have some morals and has mangaed to come with some amazingly new material.

1 Living in Aluminum
2 Devil Gets More Credit Than He Deserves
3 Joan of Arkansas
4 DysFUNKtional
5 Just Flipped Off by a Silver Haired Old Lady with a 'Honk If You
6 Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now
7 I Wanna Live in a Billboard
8 Dora's Dark Side
9 Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now (Reprise)
10 KOA Refugee
11 Prozac Made Me Stay
12 Full Moon Nights in Pine View Heights
13 Cubic Zirconium in the Rough
14 I Married Up
15 Ron Howard's Brother

Summary: A proper artist penning and making his own music with a great band
