... I'm gonna catch you. Some great choruses and it starts off fantastic. Me And My Imagination reminded me of Kylie Minogue, like this song alot and love the dancey effects on the video. I love the chorus! and the leave something, leave something.....for me .... for me and my imagination little possibilities is the best bit, lyrical genius! Today The Suns On Us! one of the biggest single pop flops of recent times from a artist in the masses although, i loved the chilled out summer vibe from this song and it earnt its ...more

Premium Review Trip The Light Fantastic - Sophie Ellis Bextor: Best Pop Album of 2007 (497 words)

Rating:

I'll start off by acclaiming that Sophie Ellis Bextor is one of the best things to happen to pop music since the brilliant Girls Aloud formed back in 2002. Sophie Ellis Bextor has defined her self for making dancey, catchy pop music that appeals to the pop lovers from Popjustice! to the cool crowd of Radio 1. With previous hits like I Wont Change You, Groovejet, Murder On The Dancefloor, Mixed Up World this album is her third and by far the best in my opinion. Every song is brilliant, and i dont mean that as a understatement - i think this album is superb, well done! Sophie! Catch You, i superb a great video and a really catchy AHEM! theme, but i think it's ...  Read the complete review

Sophie is one of the UK's national treasures, she is chic, attractive and has a sweet and sultry voice and effortless style. She is everything that Victoria Beckham wants to be. This album did not spurn many hits but is Sophie exploring a more fruitful sound. Who is she: Female vocalist, daughter of Blue Peter Presenter Janet Ellis and former lead singer of indie rock outfit The Audience. On this album: Off to a good start, 'Catch You' is a fierce little pop number with electro undertones. Her voice is more confident than before and she glides into the upbeat chorus with ease. Highlights: 'Me And My ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Trip The Light Fantastic - Sophie Ellis Bextor: Fantastic is an understatement. (967 words)

After the commercial failure of her second album, Shoot From The Hip in 2003, Miss Ellis-Bextor took a long break to give birth to a child and work on that all important third album. With the third album, she was supposedly revisiting her pop roots which brought her commercial success with her debut, so how did it all work out? The album was titled Trip The Light Fantastic and was finally released in May 2007. Here is my perception of it, track by track... 1. CATCH YOU: This was the first single to be released from this album in February 2007 and returned Sophie to the top 10 after 3 years away. The song itself is storming, fierce electro pop ...  Read the complete review

Pop - 2003

More of the same from the Kooks, Some excellent tracks Takes a bit of time to grow, which will put some off. A little too similar to the debut

An excellent album featuring a number of brilliant R&B flavoured pop gems. Not officially released in the UK, you may have to pay a little more to own it on import.

Lots of strong tracks A coupel of tunes let it down

Classic Hip Hop Ballards are weak

'Wolves At Night', 'I Can Barely Breathe', 'Colly Strings' None

Vile - Cannibal Corpse
Graet riffs and melodies explicit lyrics

Tomb Of The Mutilated - Cannibal Corpse
Archetypal death metal. Attempts to shock are pretty desperate at times.

The Bleeding - Cannibal Corpse
More consistent performance. Dull vocals, and easy to drift out after the first song.

Gallery Of Suicide - Cannibal Corpse
They try something different. Boy, is it dull.

Fractured - Capharnaum
Some great guitar work. Nothing particularly interesting here.

Elliot Minor - Elliot Minor
all good music i cant think of any

Eaten Back To Life - Cannibal Corpse
Enjoyable slice of early death metal, without over-reliance on shock value. Uninspired.

Hammer Smashed Face - Cannibal Corpse
Cannibal Corpse's good song, and some okay covers. Unremarkable performance.

Butchered At Birth - Cannibal Corpse
Ha ha, it's horrible. Poor performance spoiled even further by terrible production.

Bloodthirst - Cannibal Corpse
Improved production, consistent. Does nothing the previous albums didn't.
