... one of that decades most addictive hooks and a classic chorus to go with it. There was many a party where that song was blared out at maximum volume. "Hellbelly" sees the bands subject matter broaden, embracing religious imagery that surely stems from their Irish upbringing. These themes come back repeatedly in tracks such as "Unbeliever", "Turn" and "Lunacy Booth". Elsewhere "Stop it you're killing me" sees politics brought into the equation, but not at the expens...more

Premium Review Troublegum - Therapy?: We all need this little bit of Therapy? (420 words)

For my first review on this site i figured i would go for something of a classic. The quality and influence of this one album cannot be overstated. Having begun to show their quality on 1992's record "Nurse", it was on "Troublegum" (1994) that they really matured. The blend of melody, emotion, aggression, and addictive catchy songs is something that many bands have tried to emulate since, but few have come close to matching the quality that Therapy? reached here. Bursting out of the blocks with hard hitting opener "Knives" as a statement of intent, the pace does not relent. Second track "Screamager" provides one of that ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Therapy? - Troublegum (95 words)

A fine punk/metal album by these young rockers from Belfast. Heavy guitars are the order of the day,and this is none more evident than on the opening bars of the very first track - "knives". This opener along with other songs such as "Screamager", "Stop it you're Killing Me" and "Turn" are songs other bands would die to have written. This is a stunning album of consistenly good songs. Sounds like Metallica mixed with a touch of Green Day and a smidgen of Radiohead. ...  Read the complete review

This was the first Therapy? album that I bought, quite a few years back now, and I've not listened to it for a while, so I've given it another go to refresh my memory. This is the band's second album, and probably their best known. I remembered it as being a collection of vicious heavy metal tunes written in exactly the sort of spiteful and aggressive way that appeals to late-teenage boys, and was expecting not to like it that much on relistening. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, the aggressiveness is still there, and the lyrics are just as dark as I remembered, but these are also great heavy metal tracks. The songs are extremely ...  Read the complete review

Another fantastic metal opera by Tobias Sammett lots of guest vocals None for me

Excellent, stripped-down riffs and song-structures, superb vocals and lyrics, great atmosphere None

Diverse, Intriguing Experimental

Perfect balance of rock and sampling, Classic tracks of modern British rock, Talented musicians, programmers and vocals Not to everyone's tastesSeems a little silly in places, specially the comic thing

A nice range of songs from the first three albums. Too early for a live album, and there's nothing particularly exciting about it.
