Dave Dudley is an artist that had so far been unknown to me, so I was keen to give this hit single collection between 1963-73 a listen. The first thing noticeable about the album is that the style of singing is quite similar to Johnny Cash, booming vocals resonate your ear holes and make you pay attention to the stories being told through song in a comical, serious and at times very touching way depending on the track. The lyrics are catchy, put together so they fit the storylines of certain songs, remain witty and powerful yet rhyme perfectly.
