Although Elvis Presley had a back catalogue of songs larger than probably any other artist, he insisted on sticking to a set of songs that he personally called his favourites for most of his live shows. In 1976 in Tucson however Elvis put on a show in which he asked the audience what they wanted to hear. This album is a collection of recordings from that live show and it includes some excellent live versions of great Elvis tracks that even his most adoring fans had only previously heard as studio performances. By 1976 Elvis had been performing live for seven years and found himself to be in as much of a rut as he had felt during the filmmaking years of the 1960s. It didn't help that he himself decided to sing the same songs, night after night after night, with rarely any changes to the set list. This album from the Elvis Presley specialist record label FTD features a performance from Tucsn, Arizona on 1 June 1976. The sound quality is excellent but what is particularly notable about this performance is that unlike in most of his shows, Elvis actually asks the audience what they want to hear.
