Pretty damn good by German standards.. (Tuesday - Reamonn)

Advantages: Good pop music

Disadvantages: Bit gooey lyrically

When it comes to German music, I usually knock it with the exception of a little early Krautrock. Reamonn with their gooey lyrics is an unlikely candidate for my record collection and I'm usually criticsed by friends about my acceptance of this German pop/rock band.

Reamonn are for me however, one of the ultimate pop bands around today - devoid of ridiculous vocals, they write good lyrics to good tunes which are well sung and well played. They are catchy with emotion, memorable and quite fun. Ever since discovering the song Supergirl in an internet cafe in Cairo back in early 2005, I've been aware of them and whilst I'm not such an avid fan to possess any of their other albums - I do have "Tuesday" which contains that classic song.

Fronted by Irish singer Rae the songs are in English and have a U2 quality from Joshua Tree. This band are largely unknown in the UK and I really think they could have done rather well there, combining the catchiness and gooeyness of lyrics of the 90s Irish boybands with a gruffer than U2 vocals and instrumental quality of a good indie band combined with some nice electronic sections to come up with a pretty unique sound. Other particularly good songs on the album include "Stripped" and "Swim"
