Following on from the oppressive and claustrophobic mix of death and doom that was their 1992 debut full-length 'As The Flower Withers', Yorkshire gothic doom band My Dying Bride developed their formula in interesting new directions with their 1993 release 'Turn Loose The Swans', an album that consists of lethargic, moribund and drawn-out songs with a habit of dragging themselves along before crawling to a stop and the reluctantly returning to life once more.
