... the tracks that isn't (Simone) is just an instrumental and not the best. Other songs are extended versions of those on The Complete Stone Roses. If you like 'Elephant Stone' the version included here is in my opinion superior. The build up to the song is much more gradual and adds a great deal. The version of 'Fools Gold' lasts for nearly 10 minutes but its brilliance means that it only seems to last a fraction of this time. Premium Review Turns Into Stone - The Stone Roses: Monkey Magic (239 words)
by - written on 15/10/01 (Useful, 32 readings)
Rating:

The album does not contain any new material, being a collection of b-sides and singles. Better material than the previous acoustic collection, and more variety. Not really an acoustic album, and suffers from a weird dichotomy.

Labyrint - Arakain
Standard heavy power metal fare with good vocals. Becomes very tedious very soon.

Dance Of December Souls - Katatonia
Effective death-doom metal with great guitar and keyboard duo. Sounds a little amateurish and unpolished.
