Advantages: Brings together some great tracks

Disadvantages: Hardly any

A collection of early singles, A's and B's, so if you already have them, this album is superfluous.
"Elephant stone" is a different version from the one that appears on their debut album, the classic "Stone Roses", and the extended versions of "One love" and "Fool's gold" are also included.
Not only the singles are addictive pop songs - this is a band who tucked brilliant songs on the B-sides. I especially like "The hardest thing in the world" and "Mersey Paradise", and am glad they gained a wider audience via this CD.

It's not easy to pick my favourite track - it could be "Standing here", a sublime piece of music, like Robyn Hitchcock at his very best.
Sometimes I skip "Simone", the 'experimental' track, but it does have a haunting beauty, with its pulsing backward beat.

"Turns into stone" isn't as good as "Stone Roses", but there's not a single bad track on it.
