The Best Of Christmas - Johnny Mathis
by ButterBear - written on 12/11/08 (Very useful, 90 readings)
Rating:
I ve carried on many of the traditions from my childhood and love the same things now that I did then this includes the Christmas songs of Johnny Mathis. Johnny Mathis is an American singer, born in Texas in 1935, his gentle vocals are most often lent to romantic ballads and have been used for soundtracks in films including Lizzie, his Christmas songs have always been popular for film soundtracks and include the Home Alone Movies. He has won and been nominated for many awards during his long career which include Grammys, a star on the Hollywood walk of fame and a lifetime achievement award from the Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. He has been in the industry ...

A Night To Remember - Johnny Mathis
by crazyminx - written on 27/07/09 (Very useful, 49 readings)
Rating:
do so for reasons beyond my control, so I thought I should at least write a review about it in order to gain something from the experience! This is Johnny Mathis first new studio album in several years and features collaborations with artists such as Kenny G, Gladys Knight and Yolanda Adams, which all add a little variety to the CD. Mathis proves that his voice is as smooth and relaxing as ever with this album. Considering he s in his 70s, it s quite remarkable how good he sounds. However, this is an album filled with covers that in all honesty have all been done more imaginatively by other people. There s nothing new or exciting about either the songs or the way ...

A Night To Remember - Johnny Mathis
by Smallvillenews - written on 09/10/08 (7 readings)
Rating:
on it, however Johnny is definately showing his age and the songs just do not have the same pep as the origionals did and I found myself wishing the songs would hurry up and end. It is full of lovely instrumental sections, but they seem to just draw out the songs a bit to much, with most songs being over 4 minutes long and two ...

Products similar to Twelfth Of Never - Johnny Math...
World Citizen - Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian
By turns rhythmical and cutting edge; with a political mindedness it's not ashamed of
The lyrics may be a little too political for some
The Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager - Get Cape Wear Cape Fly
A decent debut album that mixes Folk and rock superbly
He still hasn't got the radio play he deserves
The Art Of The Koto Vol. 1 - Nanae Yoshimura
Hauntingly beautiful and curiously accessible traditional music from Japan
It might make you want to buy the next two volumes!
Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - John Williams - Soundtrack
The perfect continuation of a popular score with a lot more drama thrown in
If you never bought into any aspect of the Star Wars saga, then you probably won't like it
Making Love And Music: The 1976-79 Recordings - Dr. Hook
One of the best songs ever - A Little Bit More
A disappointing end to the album.
How To Get Everything You Ever Wanted In Ten Easy Steps - The Ordinary Boys
The first half of the album is packed full of promise
The second half of the album is a massive bore
Fragments From The Inside - Harold Budd
Brilliantly inventive : electronica at it's most exciting and intelligent
Too few people will ever hear it
From Within Vol.1 - Richie Hawtin
Glorious early 90s electronica by two genuine pioneers
Might be hard to find
Capture / Release - Rakes
A decent uptempo band, good lyrics and pretty catchy music
Won't appeal to anyone who isn't keen on the current Indie Rock scene
The Love Album - Westlife
Some nicely sung and emotional cover versions of well-known love songs
It is almost entirely an album of covers - only one song doesn't appear to be a cover version
