What first attracted me to this album was the cover art - it's so bright and colourful and I guess I expected the album to be the same. I wasn't wrong!
The album consists of twelve tracks and it has an average running time in terms of length. It contains the singles Sewn, Never Be Lonely, Fill My Little World and Love It When You Call. I would describe the album as indie pop, with a souful edge to it. Yes, some of the songs are slow, however they're full of feeling and if you listen to the lyrics they're actually very well written. The upbeat songs are happy and catchy without coming across as cheesy. This album was actually quite refreshing as it was released at a time when the charts were becoming more or less dominated by RnB rubbish!!!!
I paid just £2.97 for this album from Amazon a few months after it was released. The album was given mixed reviews but I happen to like it. It's not the most "feel good" album that i've ever heard but it's clever, cool and well produced. The songs are all different, they're not boring and they have meaning.
If you enjoy listening to The Kooks, Kaiser Chiefs e.t.c I think you would enjoy this. It's still pretty cheap to buy so why not give it a listen?
Surprisingly rather good!
Summary: A great indie pop album
