Twitch: Jourgensen's last stand. (Twitch - Ministry)
Member Name: Jay Pendragon
Advantages: drums and filtered voices Disadvantages: may be too punishing for the faint-of-heart.
'Twitch' is a bridge between the syth-pop past of Alien Jourgensen's early years and the insanely heavy metal of 'Psalm 69' and 'Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste'. Jourgensen was inspired by the sounds of Depeche Mode's 'Some Great Reward'- esp. 'People are People'- to harden up his sound. 'Twitch' was produced in 1986 by Adrian Sherwood and mister Jourgensen- and here we have the roots of every Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson record made since. In reality, 'Twitch' is the last melodically-inclined Ministry record, as each successive LP became more inaccessible and noisy to the point of being ridiculous. Songs such as the classic 'We Believe' and 'Angel' go straight for the jugular, and definitely get things going on the dancefloor. There are some industrial elements which would be refined and intensified on such Jougensen projects as rEVOLTING COcks and Ministry's own 'Land of Rape and Honey'. Seminal music. Summary: |
