      Great live metal

Arch Enemy have always had a massive fan base in Japan when their singer was Johan Liiva. Then when Arch Enemy changed their vocalist to Angela Gossow, the fan base grew even more. Arch Enemy have always loved going to Japan because of the different traditions and so on. The album was recorded in Tokyo Forum on the 8th of March 2008 in front of thousands of Japanese fans. The album starts off with Blood On Your Hands which is a song that shows what Arch Enemy is all about. The screaming vocals and the shredding guitars. Arch Enemy play their best songs off the albums recorded with Angela Gossow and also including a few songs from the pre-Angela Gossow times. Daniel plays an amazing drum solo which is simular to the one from Live Apocalype but made much better. Michael and Chris play some great solos in the set including Intermezzo Liberté. Near the end, they play their 2 classics, Nemesis and We Will Rise and then finishing off with Fields of Desolation. This album is a must have for all Arch Enemy fans.

      God like metal!

Tyrants of the Rising Sun by Arch Enemy is an awesome set of 2 CD's of live footage and a DVD which contains a film of a concert in early 2008 and a 40 minute road movie. Arch Enemy have been brilliant since the arrival of Angela Gossow in 2001, the pretty lead singer has a voice from the bowels of hell and adds real stage presence.

In no Arch Enemy album to date has their been such an energetic feel to the music, you can really feel it on this live album - undoubtedly spurred on by the Japanese, who go insane for metal.

As Gossow bounds around the stage, occasionally higher than the rest of the band as she booms out from a podium with a state of authority it assures you that this is definitely not a woman you'd like to have an argument with! One of the few female vocalists in metal to not go with the tried and tested yet relatively dull melodic sound, she has awesome growling vocals which are a match for any male metal vocalist on the planet.

The guitar playing is also well-timed, precise, intricate and varies perfectly in speed and melody, some of the finger work seems humanly impossible, Christopher Amott is simply amazing on this bundle, the double guitar sound really gives it a lot of balls and the way Christopher's playing weaves in and out of his brother's is simply superb.

I've always liked Arch Enemy but this album is so vibrant and powerful that it has taken their work to a new god (and godess of course) like level. Melodic death metal at its best.
