UKF Bass Culture
Advantages: Good Drum & Bass tracks
Disadvantages: Poor dubstep tracks
UKF Bass Culture is a album with a mixture of dubstep and drum & bass tracks. There are 41 tracks split on to 2 CD's by artist such as Chase & Status, DJ Fresh, Modestep, Wilkinson, Loadstar, Spor and Skillex. When I seen this album I thought a mixture of dubstep and drum and bass this has to be good so I went and brought it from my local hmv as this seemed to be the only new album with drum and bass and dubstep at the time.
CD1 has a few drum and bass tracks but mostly dubstep tracks. The drum and bass tracks are pretty good and my favourites would have to be Camo & Krooked - All fall down and Futurebound - Blind Cobblers Thumb (Tantrum Desire Remix). The Dubstep however is pretty poor. There are a few good tracks from the genre by artists Gemini and 16Bit. The rest are poor as it seems UKF have just tried to get the tracks with the heaviest, loudest, robotic sounds.
CD 2 has mostly drum and bass tracks and a few dubstep tracks. I enjoyed this cd much more than the first. The cd has most of the popular drum and bass tracks of 2011 so far which sound pretty good. There are only a few dubstep tracks on cd 2 and I enjoyed most of them which I was surprised as I never even heard of most of the artists and was expecting them to be as bad as they was on the first cd.
Overall I was expecting a lot more from this album. I enjoyed almost all the drum and bass tracks on the album as there is a wide range of drum & bass tracks to listen to. The dubstep however lets the album down as there are only a few tracks worth listening to.
If your a big fan of drum and bass and dubstep and see this album for a fiver its probably worth buying as there are a lot of good drum and bass tracks and a few good dubstep tracks.
I brought the album for £9.99 at HMV but I have recently seen at £6.99 in HMV.
Summary: The album has good drum and bass tracks but most of dubstep tracks are poor.
