I will admit that one of my all time favourite films is indeed Dirty Dancing and I did used to have the soundtrack until I wore it out and it became so bad I had to throw it out. When I spotted this one in Woolworths I just had to buy it much to my Husbands moaning!

The cover of the CD is white and has a picture of Baby and Johnny on the right had side and the name of the film on the left. At the top of the cover there are the names of the two stars of the film. The back cover is grey with a faint picture of some dancers and here you can find the track list. Inside the case is a small booklet which contains details of all the songs and their artists and running time.

The CD contains 12 tracks which all feature in the film. The track list is:-

3. She's Like The Wind - Performed by Patrick Swayze
4. Hungry Eyes - Performed by Eric Carmen

6. Yes - Performed by Merry Clayton
7. You Don't Own Me - Performed by The Blow Monkeys
8. Hey Baby - Performed by Bruce Channel
9. Overload - Performed by Zappacosta
10. Love Is Strange - Performed by Mickey and Sylvia
11. Where Are You Tonight - Performed by Tom Johnson
12. In The Still Of The Night - Performed by The Five Satins

This is a great mix of the best songs which are all in the film and my personal favourite is She's Like the Wind as it is actually Patrick Swayze singing it. I was very surprised when I found this out as I had no idea he had such a good voice and the words are also very good and meaningful.

The whole CD features a wide mix of songs with ballads and faster dance music all combined. None of the tracks seem out of place or sound like they should not be on here and when every I listen to the CD (not in the car anymore as Hubby has banned it!) I cannot help but remembering the parts of the film where the songs are.

I do admit that I have not heard of half of the artists but I do instantly recognise the songs and I am glad that this CD is available as I would not have a clue what CD's to look for to buy the songs I like. Each and every track does make have me and my little man dancing in the kitchen, he even dances to the slow songs, swaying from side to side and has me in hysterics with his funky dance moves.

The CD was produced by Song BMG originally in 1987 but the copy which I have was re-produced in 2008 and comes with a pink cardboard sleeve as it is being re-sold and all profits are going towards Breast Cancer Care which I think is a wonderful idea as I am helping them to raise money at the same time as enjoying myself.

I paid £5 for my CD from Woolworths which is a great price but I would have paid a few pounds more if they would have been asking as the money is going to this good cause.

Summary: Excellent soundtrack to an excellent film
