- Introduction - Unbreakable is the follow up album to 2005's Never Gone, which at the time was the first new studio album from the Backstreet Boys in over four years. This time, Unbreakable is notable for being the first studio album from the group as a now four piece group, since Kevin left in summer 2006. Due to this, I was waiting to be quite critical of it but I was also interested to see (or more, hear) the differences present. Would it not work without Kevins vocals? is it obvious he's not in it? and after their last album had them going in a somewhat different musical direction, being alot more pop/rock then pop/R&B, would this have them ... I have been a fan of the Backstreet Boys since I was a teenager, while I loved British boy-bands I found the American exports were a bit edgier and produced better upbeat pop tracks unlike the deluge of ballads our own acts would produce. I've stuck with the boys even until now when I'm entirely too old and grown up to listen to boy-bands and have always enjoyed their new releases, having bought or had each of their albums bought for me. A few years ago the boys had a break, splitting to work on solo projects and have separate lives for a while, I was delighted when they reformed releasing their album "Never Gone" but I couldn't help worrying that the time ...
