Advantages: Duet with Trent Reznor, Range of sounds are explored, Features the well-known "Cornflake Girl"

Disadvantages: , None!

"Little Earthquakes" was amazing as a debut album but if you are new to Tori Amos then I suggest buying "Under The Pink".

Tori has moved on from the solo effort in this album and uses a band and keyboard as well as piano.

Her use of the piano also differs - for example, she muffled the sound for some of her songs by putting a blanket over her piano.

And what an amazing sound it is - she moves from high-pitched, unique tones ("Bells for Her") to a loud orchestra-like sound ("Yes, Anastacia"). She proves how versatile her talents are in this album with this and a beautiful duet chorus with Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails on the song "Past the Mission".

This album will be listened to over and over again as, whilst the music is outstanding, her lyrics are equally as good and it will leave you guessing what the song is about and changing your mind everytime you hear it!

Her wonderful dedication to an early fan called Greg is in her opening song "Pretty Good Year" - Tears on the sleeve of a man/
don't want to be a boy today/
heard the eternal footman/
bought himself a bike to race/
and Greg he writes letters and burns his CDs/
hey say you were something in those formative years/.

She also touches on more deeper issues in her song "God" - God sometimes you just don't come through/
You make pretty daisies pretty daisies love/
I gotta find what you're doing about things here /
a few witches burning gets a little toasty here /I gotta find why you always go when the wind blows...

and who could forget the major Chart-topping hit "Cornflake Girl" -
Never was a cornflake girl/
thought that was a good solution/
hangin' with the raisin girls/
she's gone to the other side/
givin us a-yo-heave-ho/
tings are getting kinda gross/

In short - It's a beauti
ful album that demostrates her talents well - buy it!

Wasn't keen to the last album either but I loved everything before that (though Boys fo Pele was a little off-the-wall)

I agree. I was let down by her last album. But then they were all covers - she is writing her own album at the moment.

Could do with more info on the songs, and maybe less lyrics, or increase the balance a little more in favour of information.
