40 single or album. I thought I would review their third album, the Mercury Prize nominated Great Eastern, because it truly is a masterpiece. Who are the Delgados. The Delgados were a Scottish indie band who formed around about the mid 90s and founded the Chemikal Underground label. Unfortunately they split last year. They consist of Emma Pollock Vocals Stewart Henderson- bass Alun Woodward vocals and guitar Paul Savage - Drums. The Great Eastern is a truly wonderful album and is in my top 20 cds of all time. What the hell are they putting in the whisky in Scotland at the moment? To Belle & Sebastian, Travis, Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai, Idlewild and Primal Scream you can now add The Delgados to the ever growing list of Scottish bands that are currently making very important music. The Great Eastern follows on from the Delgados promising debut 'Peleton' that housed the wonderful 'Everything Under the Water'. It is a staggering effort that will melt the hearts of all listeners.
