Advantages: Johhnny Borrell on vocals
Disadvantages: lyrics rushed
UP ALL NIGHT is the title of RAZORLIGHT's album containing twelve tracks.
GOLDEN TOUCH is the best song on th album. The jumpy guitar gives the song a unique sound which really kicks in at the chorus. With great sounding lyrics this song really works.
The opening track LEAVE ME ALONE provides all the musicians in the band to showcase their talent. The piano sounds really nice here and the guitar gives the song a really good edge.
ROCK N ROLL LIES is a really fast paced track full of energy. Everything in this song is done at full tilt and is a hard hitting song that gets your feet tapping.
IN THE CITY starts off slow then builds to a creschendo. The timing of the guitar in this song is crucial in giving the song a real kick.
DON'T GO BACK TO DALSTON is a gentler song with superb lyrics. The lyrics really have meaning in this song.
STUMBLE AND FALL is a great song that has great energy and wonderful chorus. The chorus is easy to singalong with.
WHICH WAY IS OUT and RIP IT UP showcase the unique vocals of lead singer Johnny Borrell. His vocals light up these songs providing great senttiment in the lyrics well supported by the instruments.
The song is similiar to UP ALL NIGHT which again has wonderful energy and a really positive message in the lyrics.
GET IT AND GO, VICE and TO THE SEA are good songs though nothing special and appear to be making up the album.
FALL, FALL, FALL finishes the album with a song that sounds like it took about two minutes to write. Nonetheless, it is quite a fun song to finish the album.
The bonus track SOMEWHERE ELSE is a good addition to the album.
Razorlight are a band full of energy and vigour. Johnny Borrell is a great lead singer, supported by the beautiful sounding guitar and piano.
If there is a negative it's maybe that the lyrics in some songs sound rushed.
Overall, a good album with lots of energy and avaliable from AMAZON at 14.19.
Summary: Razorlight have you up all night listening!
