We?ve heard it all before about the Charlatans, they?ve had changed line-up?s, they?ve had convictions, they?ve even had deaths, but they are the perennial survivors. In fact, they?ve been releasing records for fourteen whole years now. When their first album, Some Friendly was released Margaret Thatcher was still the British Prime Minister, West Germany were on their way to winning the World Cup and people still wore shell-suits. In all that time they?ve really failed to record what could be spoken of as a ?classic? album.
