Advantages: Great strength in depth as well as high quality songs
Disadvantages: Not many at all
After The Libertines released their first single 'What a Waster' that became well known in the underground music circle for the high amounts of swearing and its banning from radio stations came their first album 'Up The Bracket'
This album is widely renowned as one of the best albums to be released this decade and is their best album. It is also thought that the so called indie revival in this decade was down to The Strokes and The Libertines.
Containing songs such as 'Death On The Stairs', 'Time For Heroes' and 'The Good Old Days' this album has songs for many different moods. When you are feeling a bit down this album can cheer you up, when you are feeling happy this album is a great joy to listen and even if you want to reflect this album contains the songs that allow you to do that.
It has great strength in depth with 'Radio America' being potentially the weakest song on the album and even this isn't a bad track. This album is memorable as well with the scream at the start of the title track 'Up The Bracket' the slightly odd way that 'The Boy Looked At Johnny' starts and the slightly worrying 'Horror Show'.
This album is one of the best to be released and is The Libertines best album out of the two they have released. This is shown as their greatest hits album contains almost all of this album plus a couple of other songs.
I would definitely recommend getting this album and am sure that it will influence bands for years to come.
Summary: Definitely buy this album
