Advantages: A true talent and a star in the making.

Disadvantages: She's young but don't let that put you off she is definitely NOT a Britney or a Christina!

For a 17 year old this girl is uniquely gifted both with a voice that sends shivers up your spine because of its power and octave range but also with a maturity beyond her years in her songwriting.

If you think Mariah Carey has a good voice you have to listen to Vanessa she is far better.

She's an Aussie girl who was accidentally found by a talent scout when she was singing in a restaurant she used to waitress at. He signed her up on a record contract basically there and then knowing she was going to be a star.

I stumbled on her music when I was travelling Australia and her debut song 'Absolutely Everybody' had been released and was instantly impressed. I then heard her sing at the Olympics and wow every other singer paled into insignificance.

Her song 'Shine' the next to be released was dedicated to a friend who committed suicide at a young age and I was touched by the words and the sentiment. Her songs inspire a good influence on both young and old and unlike some artists she is both brilliant at slow soulful songs aswell as upbeat tracks that you can really dance and jump up and down to.

My favourite at the mo however is 'The Power! and here's a few words that when i'm having a bad day inspire me to go on.

She has a gift of bringing people together with her songs she does not target a specific group in the market she is open to everyone and she the only young person i know that can incorporate, pop, soul and rap without sounding fake. She can sing without music and it would still blow you away and that is what
I call real talent.

Give her a chance..you won't regret it.
