This - Garbage's second album - is surprisingly good. It's one of those albums that you keep coming back to after a few weeks and finding new things in it, and whilst some of the songs might superficially sound somewhat the same, there are definite nuances and subtle differences to each one. Comparing it to their first, it sounds on the whole much more laid-back, and is less 'in your face' - in essence it sounds more grown-up. The tracks 'Push It' and 'The Trick Is To Keep Breathing' especially are worth listening to over and over again. Shirley Manson's voice is as good as ever, the music is impeccably played, and it all combines to make a great album - especially good, surprisingly, as a summer album - that anyone should be proud to own.
