Advantages: People having fun, catchy guitar solos, decent vocals

Whilst Girlschool can never be described as one of the best ever metal or hard rock acts, they're definitely not bad..for girls! The all girl band may have had some stinkers but The Very Best of is an excellent little album devoid of any of those. The first 3 tracks C'mon Let's Go, Emergency and Race with The Devil is about as good a trio of tracks by the band that I could think up but the album doesn't stutter as it continues with classic glammy tracks including some covers like T-Rex's 20th Century Boy right until the end when it finishes with a cool cover of Gary Glitter's I'm the Leader of the Gang and The Sweet's Fox on the Run.

On top of the novelty of girls rocking out reasonably well instead of some disastrous ear bashing noise like the modern day Avril Lavigne or any number of crappy Canadians, the guitar solos are fun and whilst there's nothing groundbreaking here, one thing is for sure, these leather clad ladies are having a lot of fun belting out rock anthems which is more than you can say for the depressing pap on the radio today. It's so fun in fact, that you have to be a robotic zombie not to tap at least a few times and a vicar not to break out into the occasional little bout of air guitar. Danceable tracks that will definitely put you in a good mood, chew on that Coldplay.. you miserable gits!
