This was the last "proper" album from The Sisters Of Mercy, released at the end of 1990 to a chorus of disbelief from many, which was mainly down in to the conscription of former Sigue Sigue Sputnik "person", Tony James who masqueraded as a bass guitarist. In fact, when he left the Sisters in 1991, no-one noticed that he was gone, such as his contribution was (some of us refered to Sputnik as "Sick Sick Sh*tbag", for the obvious reason). The lyrics are sometimes laughably bad- still they kick Billy Idol's ass on a bad, allergy-ridden day whenever. 'Vision Thing' is a loud, sometimes extremely obnoxious and arrogant LP that will either enthrall or disgust upon first listen. Not that its a bad record: this stuff gets your feet tapping really easily, along with loud ... Read the complete review
