I thought that she was selling out abit and was desperate for a chart hit single when i heard this news, but luckily i was wrong. Timberland wrote the lead single "Earth intruders" which is very haunting and has a killer tribal beat.
This album is very fast paced and isnt a serious piece of music like her previous effort, she says herself that she comes accross as quite Bombastic on this record and has developed quite a playfull ego.

Now i know that Bjork isn't everyones cup of tea but i find her truly fascinating and one of the best and original musicians of our time. I think that she is terribly underrated by the general music buying public, and that also reflects on this album Even though Volta charted at number 7 in the UK, i personally feel that it deserved to go higher. Volta is Bjorks 6th full length studio album and is much diffrent from her previous work, esp her previous release "Medulla" which was soley based on sounds that can be created by the voice.
