30 Greatest Hits - Aretha Franklin

Premium Review Queen of soul (396 words)
by cswann - written on 28/09/00 (Very useful, 59 readings)
Rating:

the best female singer there has ever been. No one in pop / soul comes close, and even compared to Maria Callas, or Billie Holliday - I still think that Aretha at her best is unbeatable. Young, Gifted And Black - Aretha Franklin

Premium Review 70s Classic (1101 words)

This album gives the breadth of Aretha s talent as a Composer/Interpreter/Singer/Pianist and all round soul diva. The great news is it can be picked up for under £5 on Amazon and really is essential listening. The liner notes by David Nathan are superb and very informative with track information/recording dates ...

Rating:

in my collection. Aretha shows all her vocal talent throughout the album and every single song is great and its not very often someone says that. As there is usually at least one weak track. The very best songs though are Rock Steady and Didn t I blow your mind this time If your like me and your too young to remember her in ...
