Rating:
materpiece that is Sigur Ros . Meš suš ķ eyrum viš spilum endalaust has a more uplifting and some would say interesting edge on their previous titles. Gobbledigook is the song on the album that shows this the most, a more up tempo approach is therefore evident. Hoppipolla, which was a well respected track on their previous ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Background:- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For those unfamiliar with the band, Sigur Ros are a four-piece Icelandic dream-pop/post-rock band with influences ranging from Coldplay-esque vocals and piano melodies to massive atmospheric orchestral arrangements. Takk - Sigur Ros
Rating:
they, more likely than not, have never visited). Much as I disapprove of this stunning display of journalistic originality it shows just how hard it is to accurately describe Sigur Ros sound to someone. Their sound is immense yet intimate, moving back and forth from softly floating hums of electric guitars played with violin bows to speaker-straining crescendos of noise, all of which is orchestrated with painstaking precision whilst Jonsi s ethereal icelandic wailing soars over the top of it all. It s like nothing you have heard before. Takk... is the fourth album from Sigur Ros (counting their only-recently-released debut Von, which I recommend you avoid) and it ...
