Much as I disapprove of this stunning display of journalistic originality it shows just how hard it is to accurately describe Sigur Ros sound to someone. Their sound is immense yet intimate, moving back and forth from softly floating hums of electric guitars played with violin bows to speaker-straining crescendos of noise, all of which is orchestrated with painstaking precision whilst Jonsi s ethereal icelandic wailing soars over the top of it all. It s like nothing you have heard before. Takk... is the fourth album from Sigur Ros (counting their only-recently-released debut Von, which I recommend you avoid) and it ...
