Advantages: Such a range of talent, moods, sounds and vocals keeps you entertained throughout

Disadvantages: Production of songs is not perfect but that adds to the rawness of the music

It's hard to imagine that before buying this album I didn't know a lot about Hendrix or his songs. I'd heard all the 'popular' ones such as Voodoo Child and i knew who he was, but that was barely scratching the surface of his musical catalogue.
When I recieved this album as a Christmas present I thought i'd give it a go, and straight away I realised i'd been missing out all this time. As a guitarist myself i'd heard people say how good he was, but I never realised just how well his guitar sound and his voice gelled together. It is not officially a 'best of' album, but it's hard to imagine it being improved. Such a range of feelings can be heard and felt on the album, which transmits to the listener. From 'Purple Haze' to '3rd stone from the sun', Hendrix's vast range of talent, sounds and emotion keeps the listener enthralled throughout.
After confessing to not knowing much about Jimi Hendrix, I now have at least five of the songs from this album on a continuous loop on my MP3 player, including my personal favourite 'Hey Baby'.
Overall, an outstanding album for old fans, new fans and people who've never tried, and at this price, a bargain to boot.
