Amorica - Black Crowes

Rating:
Sorry dooyoo but this was released in 1994. Anyway, it s the third album from Atlanta southern-fried rockers The Black Crowes and whilst not quite as good as their previous release The Southern Harmony & Musical Companion (the greatest album ever made in my opinion) it s still very very good indeed. Whilst that earlier album was all Allman Brothers style boogie and blues here the Crowes, with the magnificent white blues singer Chris Robinson and guitarist bro Rich, lay down a vary of styles from funk (P25 London), down-home acoustic strumming (Downtown Money Waster), flower power hippy stuff (She Gave Good Sunflower) and also more straightforward heavy rock ...

Sho'nuff - The Black Crowes
by SpookyMoon - written on 27/04/09 (Useful, 23 readings)
Rating:
Sho Nuff is a brilliant best of album by The Black Crowes . It s made up of57 tracks, taken predominantly from the albums; Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, Shake Your Money Maker and Three Snakes and One Charm. But it also features different versions of old classics like Sting Me-Slow , which is a totally delicious take on the original. So for those of you that think there isn t much point in getting this album as you already have the original albums, then I would definitely say it is because of little gems like Sting Me-Slow and She Talks to Angels-Acoustic version (the piano intro in this one is really beautiful). This album is different to their ...

Shake Your Money Maker - Black Crowes

from my computer so I uploaded it onto my computer a few weeks back and I found myself enjoying listening to the album again. It certainly brings back memories. The Black Crowes produce good old fashioned rock and roll music, combining blues with hard rock giving them a distinctive sound. Some of my favourite tracks from this album: "Twice As Hard"- This is such a solid sounding song to start the album and even better live especially when they performed it with Stereophonics on Later with Jools Holland. Check it out for yourself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92zQpiym0uc "Hard to Handle"- Without a doubt this is one the best songs not only ...
