Advantages: TITLE TRACK

Disadvantages: ALBUM DETIORATES

WE'LL LIVE AND DIE IN THESE TOWNS is the album from indie rock, Coventry band THE ENEMY.
The album consists of 11 tracks which I will go through.

AGGRO kicks off the album though it's not the best choice. The music lacks energy and the lyrics aren't particularly impressive. The song just limps along.

AWAY FROM HERE should of started the album as this song has more feeling and is more inspiring to listen especially when the guitar kicks in.

PRESSURE continues this trend with a slow start building up for the guitar to ignite and really give the song an edge.

HAD ENOUGH has some wonderful lyrics and is a slower track, but still cool to listen to.

WE'LL LIVE AND DIE IN THESE TOWNS features great lyrics about how you can never escape where you come from and should be proud of where you come from. A really great chorus that shows alot of passion.

YOU'RE NOT ALONE is another track that is quite personal with the lyrics focusing on times when we're down. A good song.

IT'S NOT OK lacks some energy and I wasn't particilarly keen as it sounds like album filler.

TECHNODANCEAPHOBIC and 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS are no better with them both focusing on the lyrics that don't work ahead of the music.

THIS SONG is another tired song and shows signs of the band running out of steam as the last few songs are dissapointing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE concludes the album with another average song where the instruments are laboured.

Overall, the first half of the album is fairly good, though the second half to me was uninspiring. If I'm honest I'm not a huge fan of the lead singer's vocals that are a bit dreary sounding. However, the guitar can sound good when the music is energetic.

Avaliable from AMAZON at £6.08 and lasting just under an hour this is an album that starts good and gets worse, but I've heard much worse albums.

Summary: THE ENEMY START GOOD, BUT GET WORSE.
