This has to be my favourite Pulp album out of their 10+ year career. It feels more complete than the others with not one dud track. Jarvis is in fine voice and lyrics backed by a complex weave of guitars & strings. He seems to have been going through quite a life change and is alot more positive than This Is Hardcore album. The theme of ... Read the complete review

PULP We Love Life I bought this CD with a great sense of trepidation. Having waited for what seemed like an ice age together with the prospect of the Scott Walker collaboration, I was positively salivating and this outing certainly does provide food for thought. For those of you who are wondering who the hell Scott ... Read the complete review

Pulp follow up their 'This Is Hardcore' with 'We Love Live', eventually. A album that has been delayed, scrapped and rerecorded with different producers. What hope for a project continually beset by problems? Ever since the departure of Russell Senior after the 'Different Class' album (writer, vocalist and general ... Read the complete review

Pulp have to be one of my favourite bands, so when I heard they were releasing this album (We Love Life) last year, at the end of 2001, I was very happy - even though the wait for it was nearly three years. Musically, the album did come as quite a surprise, as it is fairly different to other Pulp albums that I own. The tracklisting for ... Read the complete review

This album is just indicative of the current trend of new albums being released by several great bands - it's a weak effort! Pumpkins' Machina, Suede's Head Music, Radiohead's Amnesiac, and U2's All that u can't leave behind - were all hugely disappointing coming form my A-list of bands. Maybe i'm just getting ... Shortly before this LP came out, people were telling me that Pulp were dead and gone. Since this LP came out, I've been going around them all and laughing. We Love Life is up there with the best of Pulp's albums. Containing enough classic tunes to take over a radio station, We Love Life suggests that there is plently more in Jarvis ... Two weeks ago I bought the new pulp album,"We Love Life!"I am a massive Pulp fan. I have "His N' Hers," "Different Class," "Countdown," and "This is Hardcore!" I loved all of those albums and thought, even though I was in the minority, that "This is Hardcore" was an ... Read the complete review

“You’ll never live like common people / You’ll never do what common people do”. That’s what Jarvis Cocker proclaimed way back in those wondrous Britpop days of 1995 in Pulp’s working class anthem Common People. Which is a strange thing to say when you think about it. Those of us who are middle class cannot be ... Read the complete review

Four years ago, Pulp released their ‘This is Hardcore’ about the miserable existence of celebritydom, following the unprecedented success of ‘Different Class.’ Today, Jarvis Cocker and gang are back to their usual chirpy (yet still sardonic) selves, proudly screaming out to the world that they are alive and kicking with ... Things haven’t been too healthy in the Pulp camp of late, after the critical and commercial acclaim which greeted their 1995 release ‘Different Class’ it hasn’t been hard to observe a general downward curve. The furore which accompanied lead singer Jarvis Cocker’s ‘protest’ against Michael Jackson’s ... Read the complete review
