Advantages: Uplifting at most times, Great guitar work
Disadvantages: Last track is lacking
Despite all the critisicm they seem to reel in everywhere they go, Creed really have done well with this album, as they did with their previous two.
It's very noticable at first that this album is a lot less mournful, uplifting side of Creed. Scott (singer and lyricist) has moved on from a lot of his troubles in life. Still this record doesn't fail to arouse feelings in the listener, like them or not.
The album kicks off with 'Bullets,' probably the heaviest song Creed have done. It's basically about the criticism they so commonly take. A very angry song, 'I THINK THEY SHOOT CAUSE THE WANT IT!!!' takes you into a heavily distorted, thrashing riff. One of my favourites
The 2nd track, 'Freedom Fighter' is almost as heavy, and as angry. I prefer bullets, but it depends on taste.
A real unique feature of the album would be track three, 'who's got my back.' It begins with a minute long indian prayer, which is generally pretty annoying. It takes a while to get into the song, and even when it does it is a bit boring, but you can see it getting some radio airtime. I love the lyrics however, a great poetic feat if anything. One I usually skip, but occasionally i'll listen.
Signs, no. 4, is nothing real special. Heavy, and a cool riff, but the singing is a bit too slow for the guitar, and fails to maintain interest. IT's not bad, just comparitively bad
Heres the big one, the one that will probably climb the highest in the charts, ONe Last Breath really is epic. You can't really say you hate this song. It will be overplayed, but that's all good. I suppose one of the reasons people don't like Creed is because they hear their songs so often. One Last Breath might not do them a big favour, but it's a hell of a song.
Everyone has heard My Sacrifice, of course. It's very ordinary really, and I probably say that because i've heard it so often. NOt
bad once in a while tho
Stand Here With Me would have to be my favourite off this album. Great guitar work, great chorus, it's just a damn good song. This song was probably the one that started me liking this album. IT took me a while, actualy, this was the first Creed album i bought. This song and this album probably set me on a wild chase to get the other albums. If you buy WEathered for one song this may be it.
The title track, Weathered, has a bit of a bluesy feel about it, but a massive arena chorus, i look forward to hearing this one live, if i ever get to..not a bad song at all.
Hide, the ninth track, should also get it's fair share of airtime. It's the WIth Arms Wide Open of this album, very uplifting and passionate, looks like it will do well on the mainstream charts..
Don't Stop Dancing is a very heartfelt song, and should do well.very uplifting too
Lullaby is a bit of a dissapointment, but hey. it's the last track, i've listened to it about twice..it's very boring..but what are u gunna do
