There's nothing that sweeps away the general vibe of 'peace on Earth, good will to all men' quite as effectively as discovering that the best selling album by a female solo artist in history is 'Come On Over' by Shania Twain. **Man, I Feel Like A Woman. A Cloth-Eared Woman, At That** I'll allow you to drink that in for a second. Yes, THAT Shania Twain. If you're the sort of person who actually bought that record...stop reading now. "Whatever" is singer-songwriter Aimee Mann's debut solo album from 1993, although she enjoyed MTV success with her band Til Tuesday in the late 1980s. The album was praised strongly by critics but struggled to find an audience. It was hurt by a series of wrangles with record labels that delayed release. Aimee Mann's fortunes were rejuvenated in the late 1990s by the inclusion of eight of her songs on the soundtrack of the Paul Thomas Anderson film "Magnolia". She also had a cameo as one of the nihilists in The Big Lebowski - hers is the toe they cut off in that story - and she holds the distinction of being the only musical guest on Buffy The Vampire ...
